What I learned as a celebrity Hairstylist

Get this: I haven’t talked about this experience in yearssss😱

I styled Star Jones’s hair. Not once, not twice, but three times! ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Can you believe it? 💁🏻‍♀️

I was a trained stylist for OVER 20 years the day I walked into her hotel room, but I was still pretty dang nervous.

I thought: “What if I don’t do a good job? What if I accidently burned her ear while curling her hair? What if I say something that rubs her the wrong way and she doesn’t hire me again?”

Well, NONE of that happened.🤣 Thank goodness.🙏🏻

She was warm yet direct, personable yet professional, and she knew precisely how she wanted her hair, which made things fabulous for me and easier than anticipated. While I had a few ideas of my own about styling her hair, I prioritized earning her trust, so I followed her wishes exactly.

I finally did have the courage to suggest a different style the third time we met, and she agreed! Yay! I’m so glad I spoke my mind-after all, people pay us stylists to tell them what we think! So I told her what would/could look better.

Looking back at the celebrities that I’ve styled in the past, they all have been super easy. They know EXACTLY what they want (they’ve done this 1,000 times before) and, typically, the quicker you get their hair done, the better (they are busyyyyy people!). 💁🏻‍♀️

I’m curious… Do you remember a time when you were shaking like a leaf like I was?
