I’ve always wanted to go skydiving and when the opportunity came up to do indoor skydiving I couldn’t pass it up! And of course I had to take my partner-in-crime with me, my boyfriend Greg. I had to talk him into it because he’s a little more cautious than I am, but luckily he agreed to try it! We booked our activity through Cloud9living.com They have so many amazing experiences to do in the Chicagoland area!
It was super easy to book our online skydive. We signed up for a few dates and times and they emailed me back confirming one of the dates the next day. We were both a little nervous and excited about our upcoming experience but looking forward to it.
When we arrived it was very straightforward to sign in and the employee at the front desk encouraged us to upgrade our ticket. Which was well worth it- we got to fly another 20 feet up in the vertical tunnel which really made us feel like we were skydiving! The instructor was close by and holding on to us to keep us in alignment so that we were safe for the ride.
When we went upstairs, they set us up in a group of 10 so we could get geared up and watch the instructional video. It’s important to know how and what to do when you get in the tunnel because you’re flying at speeds of 100 MPH! It was so great being with all ages (a little brave 5 year old was celebrating her birthday that day and was in our group) and all types of thrill seekers! The instructors are all experienced professional skydivers and were extremely helpful, informative, professional and passionate about skydiving.
The experience: Wow. Thrilling. Holy moly. Intense. Did I say thrilling?! The instructors let you “free fall” but are constantly guiding you to position your body a specific way to keep the free fall going. It was SO loud in the tunnel, and I didn’t expect that. But they set it up so it’s really close to how it is when you actually skydive. Most of all we felt safe the entire time.
After each person in our group “landed” (it was such a high) they high-fived the rest of us waiting our turn. Which again, was unexpected because it was such an all-inclusive experience with our group of skydivers.
