Okay friend, let’s dive in!!

I’ve got a question for you.

Are you working IN your hair business or ON your hair business?🤔

Curious what this even means? Keep reading…

Here’s 5 signs you’re working IN (instead of ON) your biz and how to fix that:

1 – You’re only marketing your business when your books are slow.

💡Automate/duplicate: Set up posts online in advance by scheduling them and/or recycle old posts from a few weeks/months/years ago. When you’re recycling old posts, tweak the verbiage a bit and repost it!

2 – You’re doing tasks like cleaning the salon and folding towels when you could be paying someone else to do it for less than YOUR hourly rate.

💡Delegate: If your hourly rate is $75 (meaning-a service you offer takes you an hour to do and you charge $75 for it), and you can pay someone $20 an hour to clean the salon, then you should do that and take the extra time to market, grow and scale your business- NOT clean the salon.

3 – You’re taking clients that don’t light you up because you have a scarcity mindset.

💡Eliminate: If you don’t like services or aren’t vibing with specific clients anymore, it’s ok to release them. You’re the business owner-you call the shots. So you should be working with people and doing services that LIGHT you up!

4 – You’re not focused on building out your team.

💡Delegate: Think about who you can task out the responsibilities to that you don’t like doing (or aren’t that good at) and spend time on the parts of your business where you thrive and create the maximum income on… doing hair!

5 – You’re not setting healthy boundaries so there’s minimal work/life balance.

💡If you’re catching yourself saying the same things to clients over and over, put systems in place so it saves you time. For example, if you have clients that ask you about the benefits of a product you sell, or maintenance for pemanent extensions or after care instructions for a service, create a thoughtful, detailed response and save it in the Notes App on your phone so you can simply copy & paste the info the next time you get asked the same thing.

Take a good look at HOW you’re spending your time and see where you can automate, duplicate, eliminate or delegate your tasks.

I’m curious, which idea makes the most sense to you? Comment and let me know.

“If you are not willing to risk the usual, you will have to settle for the ordinary.”

➡️ Did you know that’s it’s 5 times easier to sell to someone who’s already buying from you? It’s true!

While I think it’s a good idea to post online to attract new clients, we also need to strategize how to attract more income with the clients that are already booked with us.

That’s why it’s imperative to upsell your amazing services and products to clients who are in your chair (aka buying from you already)! Plus, it’s beneficial for them as well!

I have a simple technique that I’ve been using in my own business and have taught it to hundreds of other Hairstylists over the last several years. It’s called the 90/90 Rule. 90% of your clients should be buying or getting 90% of your products and services.

It’s simple and effective and, once it’s implemented, will guarantee you more income. Check it out here:

Alright friend – that’s all for now…

I just know that what I’ve shared here is going to be SO useful for you, but remember, if you want something – you gotta get out there and ATTRACT IT!

Let me know if you enjoyed this blog! I love to hear your feedback.

May magic continue to unfold for you in the week ahead!
