Okay friend, let’s dive in!!

Today I want to give you a sneak peek on how I built up my bridal party business and doubled my sales in ONE year!

I had an OBSESSION with special occasion hair from the minute I walked into cosmetology school 28 years ago. (Let’s be honest, it started with my first Barbie doll when I was about 5 years old- and it never went away. 🤣)

At 20 years old, I got my first job in the beauty world and went through an extensive year long training program at Mario Tricoci! It was intense because they had VERY specific standards on how they wanted your angled bobs, long layered haircuts, updos and everything else in the hair world to look.

Over the course of my career I’ve done thousands of special event hairstyles- and I LOVE it!

What I love (even more) now is, coaching other stylists that specialize in special occasion hair, HOW to build up their bridal party business.

Here’s what I did to QUICKLY build up my bridal party business when I started my own company:

1-Word of mouth. When you provide a stellar service and experience for your client, they’ll tell their friends about you!

2-Online Presence. Online presence is KEY to gaining trust with a potential bride (whether she’s a regular client of yours or not), so I was constantly sharing pictures of my bridal party work, behind the scenes of my work day and happy client testimonials.

3-Networking. When I was about to leave the hotel after styling a bridal party, I would ask to speak with the event coordinator to introduce myself. If they weren’t available, I’d send an email introducing myself and sharing that my team and I specialize in on-site hair and makeup so if they needed someone, I was their girl. I had “street cred” and trust because I could reference the bridal party that I just styled at their hotel.

4-Connections. I made connections/friends with several wedding planners that had a lot of high-end weddings and THEY would refer their clients to me.

5-Strategy. I connected with the other vendors at the events (makeup artists, florists, photographers), so when their clients needed a referral for hair and makeup services, they knew who to call.

Running a business and being successful takes strategy, grit and resilience. It’s NOT easy at times. This is why I LOVE sharing my experiences with people who want to learn from me.

So tell me, what’s ONE strategy that you do in your business to attract new clients?  I’d love to know!

"The positive thinker sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible."

READY FOR AN UP-LEVEL?!

If you’re looking to join a group of like-minded hairstylists, consider being a part of our Monthly Membership program

Here’s what others are saying about their experience inside the group:

“I thought the Membership was very thorough and Gina had an answer to pretty much all of our questions.

I really needed help with taking control back in my business. For example, I had a hard time standing up for myself with my clients and I was feeling guilty, often, for not fitting clients in. Gina helped me with all of that!

I also needed help with social media with things like: creating a posting schedule, using the right CTA’s to encourage my followers to engage and accountability just to give me a kick in the butt to keep showing up.

I got all of that and more out of the Membership!

I basically implemented everything I learned and I feel a lot better about my business now.”

“It was so MUCH more than I expected!

When I signed up for the Membership, I was looking for more confidence with my social media strategy. I wanted to post more regularly, I wanted more accountability and I definitely am getting ALL of that!

I’m going Live now, using engagement stickers AND getting engagement when I do post. In fact, my sales are up 10% since I started implementing the ideas and strategies that I’ve learned.

Now, showing up on social isn’t really as hard as I once thought. Gina gives me ideas and suggestions and cheers me on along the way. The weekly customizable templates inside the monthly Membership are so helpful too!”
