Happy 7 years to Glamhairus!
In some ways it feels like I just started my business, and in other ways I can’t believe it’s been SEVEN years already! And what a whirlwind it’s been. There’s been ups and downs and everything in between. In the beginning I was a one woman show, providing only hair services for my clients. Over the years I realized how BIG I really wanted Glamhairus to be, so now we are a team of 13! (And growing :)) Again, it’s hard to believe!
We are an on-site Image Consulting beauty team providing custom accessories, custom wigs and clip-in extensions, haircuts, hair color, permanent extensions and bridal hair and makeup services. This year we partnered with three different salons in the city where they refer us their on-site clients because their team does only in salon services. In addition, we have Glamhairus accessories being sold at two salons now. Whew! We truly are a one stop shop!
I always have to be on top of everything because my business is never really closed. But, it’s great to be able to sit in my living room and answer emails, make phone calls and manage schedules when I’m not with clients (which is about half of the time these days.) Often, I’m accessory shopping for specific pieces for my clients or on-trend pieces for the salons to showcase. We also do weekly blogging which highlights events we are involved with, bridal party pictures, how-to hair videos or fashion trends we love. Luckily I have a fabulous social media specialist, Kendall, managing all of that and the website.
A friend recently asked me to describe a typical day for Glamhairus. It’s really hard to sum that up because the days are so different and so are the seasonal responsibilities. That’s one of the things I like most about having a business that has so many layers to it. It’s very gratifying for me to work with a bride from the beginning of the process through her big day! That includes picking out custom Glamhairus accessories for her and her bridesmaids, styling her hair and makeup for engagement pictures, bridal showers and her wedding day, and introducing her to custom clip in extensions. Jeniece helps manage all of our bridal contracts and behind the scenes details that involve answering the many questions that our brides have.
