As a professional woman in the city, it’s not always easy to balance work, family, friends, a social life and be stylish. I often receive feedback from women that their outfits become stagnant and they’ll stick to one style per season, such as a peasant top in a variety of colors, because it’s easier than trying to decide what to wear each day. Sometimes all you need is some inspiration to help you see outside the box.
It is easier than you think to go shopping inside your own closet. All you need are a few style tips and some guidance!
So today, I wanted to share some of quick and easy tips from taking a look from day to night.
Enjoy!

Gina
1. Add some color! Black is fine for the office, but what about when you’re meeting friends after work, going to cocktail hour, or have a date? I promise it will be quick and painless to transform your daytime work look into a chic nighttime ensemble.
One of the quickest ways is to add some color. Switch out those boring black shoes for a leopard print heel and throw on a bright scarf. Don’t forget leopard print is now considered a neutral, so your scarf doesn’t have to match your shoes. It’s okay to add an additional pattern because you have the black dress to help breakup the two up. If it’s cool out, I would also recommend putting on a different colored jacket, by playing off the scarf.
2. Don’t forget to accessorize. Adding some jewelry and a belt can help to tie everything together. Big, colorful, blingy necklaces are so in right now. Don’t be afraid to layer a necklace with a scarf and a jacket. This layering effect helps to make the look more polished and fashionable.
I completely understand wanting to be comfortable when running errands, but being cute while doing it, isn’t always easy to do when wearing yoga pants. Don’t worry, you don’t have to dig inside your closet and find that old Juicy sweat suit. Looking stylish, while staying comfortable can be simple. On top of that, you can even convert this from a daytime to a nighttime look.
Skinny jeans and jeggings are a great alternative to yoga pants. The great thing about jeans is that they go with almost anything. On top of that they’re very versatile and can easily go from day to night. For your top, throw on a simple v-neck, either long or short sleeved will work depending on the weather. Again, adding a color or textured scarf helps to take this simple outfit to the next level. Flat shoes, a fedora or knit hat, and a messenger bag help to complete the daytime look.
To dress up the look, remove the strap from the messenger bag, which will convert you purse into a clutch. Next kick off your flats and put on a pair heels or wedges. Add a chunky necklace, stud earrings, and a fashion ring. A cropped jacket finishes off the look. Now, you have an effortlessly chic outfit that is not only comfortable, but also stylish.
Accessories are the easiest way to change a look. I can’t stress enough how much you should embrace mixing colors, patterns, and textures. When going through your closet, push the envelope and don’t be afraid to move outside your comfort zone. You might surprise yourself and revamp your style!
